In the field of composite materials, our company not only keeps pace with global trends, but is also ahead of them.
Composites themselves are multicomponent materials consisting of a reinforcing filler and a binder; their ratio and orientation determine their unique properties. Combining dissimilar substances results in the creation of a new material whose properties differ quantitatively and qualitatively from those of each of its components. Therefore, by varying the composition of the matrix and filler, their ratio, and filler orientation, we obtain a wide range of materials with the desired set of properties.
Our company has developed a system of materials whose properties are comparable to those of the imported materials previously used in the MS-21 project, despite the limited availability of raw materials on the Russian market. These materials possess high impact resistance and demonstrate excellent compression properties after impact. Another important advantage of composites is their light weight, which justifies the interest of the aircraft industry in such new developments.
Work on the MS-21 project is currently underway at our partner JSC Aerocomposit's plant in Ulyanovsk. The wing and parts of the high-lift system of this new Russian aircraft are made of composites. The use of these materials significantly improves the aircraft's safety and comfort.
