RHT450 is an autoclaved phthalonitrile prepreg with a uniquely high glass transition temperature and thermal stability, designed for long-term operation at temperatures up to 300°C in an oxidizing atmosphere.
High-Temperature Prepreg RHT450 is an autoclaved phthalonitrile prepreg with a high glass transition temperature and thermal stability, used for the production of polymer composite materials (PCM) by pressing and autoclave molding. PCMs produced from the prepreg are designed for use at high temperatures up to 300°C and retain their mechanical properties at temperatures up to 400°C. In an inert atmosphere, long-term operation at temperatures up to 450°C is possible. Carbon fiber reinforced plastics made from RHT450 prepreg exhibit low flammability: the oxygen index (OI) is > 80%. When exposed to flame, the material does not delaminate, and the coke residue yield is up to 80% of the binder weight.
Key Features
Unlimited storage at room temperature
Low flammability
Long-term operation at 300 ℃
Short-term operation up to 400 ℃
Scope of application
Manufacturing of engine parts, heat shields, and other structures capable of long-term operation at temperatures of 300°C. Precursor for producing carbon-carbon composite materials.
Transportation and storage
Prepreg is stored in covered warehouses, protected from moisture and direct sunlight.
Prepreg is stored and transported in packaged form in a horizontal position no more than 3 boxes high at a temperature from minus 40 to plus 40 ℃ and a relative humidity of no more than 85%.
